Bolt Patterns: Where to Begin

Bolt patterns typically come in 4 lug, 5 lug, 6 lug, and 8 lug.

Measuring the 4-Lug Bolt Pattern

For 4 lug, measure from the center of one bolt and go across to the center of the other bolt that is directly opposite of the first bolt.

Measuring the 5-Lug Bolt Pattern

For 5 bolt, you want to measure from the end of your first bolt, move over two bolts, and measure to the middle of your third bolt.

Measuring the 6-Lug Bolt Pattern

6 lug, like the 4 lug, measures between two opposing lugs. Measure from the center of each lug.

Measuring the 8-Lug Bolt Pattern

8 lug (like the 6 and 4 lug) measures from the center of each lug from one bolt to the other bolt that is directly opposite it.
